I envisioned the house as a visually rich and sensuous experience for guests and inhabitants, a place that engages you. But, I also wanted the house to be a home, to feel comfortable, to be a welcoming place to live and visit, work and play, entertain and relax. The house would provide shelter, not only from the weather, but also for the soul. It would be a good place to be.
